Lauren Muney

I have a story:

I was giving a presentation to a group of managers - coaching them how to coach. It was my very second PPT presentation. Most of my slides were very minimalistic anyway: one- or two-word very simple text which faded into another word.

When I arrived, they said their projector broke. I felt panicky for a moment, then told myself, "You've been in entertainment for over 20 years. Now is the time for improv".

Since I had never given this presentation before and needed my slides for self-cuing, I set up my computer just to present the slides to myself. Since much of what I was saying was meant to seem like 'conversation' (and interactivity), it worked out with not having the projection. I spoke the presentation, created the exercises for the participants, and they had their handouts (which they took notes on anyway).
