This is beautiful. Thanks for the tips, especailly the reminder that we all have to recharge sometime.

For one as busy as myself, I usually view idle time as wasted time, but I do realize now that my big ideas (some of which I'd put into writing) are a product of those times I'd let my mind just play around.

so

Garr, thank you for this.

You touch on the thought that in order to be creative, your mind should be clear and you shouldn't be 'busy'. I'd like to add that we all work and have a lot of stuff to do, but that doesn't mean we have to be busy all the time. I think that if you are truly productive, you separate your 'busy time' from your 'un-busy time'.

In "Getting Things Done", David Allen talks about getting your head uncluttered by writing things down so that you don't have to keep them in your conscious in order to remember them. I think this certainly applies here.

And I'll add my thanks as well. Speaking as someone who, oddly enough, was told from a young age she was creative but never really felt it, some of these bullets are priceless!

Once again, you inspired me to write a short diddy on my own blog about enthusiasm and teaching:

Whatever she said is quite subjective but true....moreover its all about common sense.....Plain - Simple “COMMON SENSE” !!

Creative - Being Truthful to yourself and your work -->> Than “EXPLORE”

Although this is encouraging, I still don't know if I am creative in a traditional way. I do, however, do some creative things, but they are mostly jokes :)

I think some people are born to be "A Creative" and some are not. I am not. That's why I had my friend desging our new projekt http://www.hochzeit-perfekt.de

I would have never been able to design something that pretty.

fear public speaking

As far as I am concerned,I strongly believe that creativity is something that can be learnt and mastered.Unlike the idea that is common that craetivity is a gift.

The question I have about photography and the "Golden Mean" is this...Do photographers conciously look for these patterns, or are they just taking pretty shots?
